Stratford-upon-Avon is a traditional market town in the Midlands region - the 'Heart of England'. Its ancient buildings and wide variety of excellent shops create a unique blend of character and atmosphere. There are fine riverside gardens, old pubs, antique shops and museums. For evening entertainment there are three major theatres, a multi-screen cinema, restaurants, discotheques and night-clubs. There are facilities for a large number of sports, such as swimming, tennis, golf and horse-riding, and for other leisure interests and activities - for example aerobics, step-dancing, cookery, flower-arranging, and art.
