Comenius & Grundtvig

If you are a teacher of English, or you are about to enter the profession, you can deepen your knowledge of the subject and develop your teaching skills by choosing our Methodology and Language Skills Teacher Refresher course. The 2-week course is designed to provide modern, relevant, enjoyable training for teachers whose first language is not English and covers the latest classroom theories and management thinking.

The Methodology and Language Skills course is eligible for Comenius & Grundtvig funding under the EU's Lifelong Learning Programme (Comenius-Grundtvig Ref: UK-2010-1142-006).

Course Aims:
This course is aimed at practising, or recently qualified, teachers of English with good English language skills who wish to update their knowledge of contemporary issues in teaching methodology, to encounter new ideas and activities to enhance their classroom teaching, to share experience with teachers from other countries and also to improve their ability to communicate effectively in English.

Outcomes:
The course provides a forum for development of your professional skills, from insights into recent developments in English language teaching to practical classroom ideas and activities. It is also designed to develop your knowledge of contemporary English usage and provide you with the opportunity to improve your all-round competence in English.

Course Outline:
In the morning, you will join an international group to work on your language skills, whether updating and polishing, or clarifying points you still have difficulty with (maximum group size: 14). In the afternoon, you will work with an international group of fellow professionals (maximum group size: 10), discussing issues in language teaching and looking at materials and activities to give you practical ideas for your classroom.
